Job Title:       Senior Accountant
Reports to:    Principal Accountant
Position:           One (1)
Duty station:     Head office

Objective of the job:
To prepare and maintain books of accounts and associated financial records, financial reports and directly supervise the revenue and expenditure and ensure accountability of the Authority’s funds

  1. Ensure the integrity of financial accounting systems required to ensure that financial management and accounting systems are maintained.
  2. Participate in planning and budgeting processes to ensure that clear guidelines are available to the budget holders.
  3. Ensure that accounts are accurately charged and coded to respective cost centers.
  4. Ensure collection of Non-Tax Revenue (NTR) and reconciliation with URA system.
  5. Prepare monthly management accounts and other periodic accounts required giving recommendations.
  6. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports as may be required by the supervisor.
  7. Ensure proper maintenance of all ledger Accounts.
  8. Ensuring that all financial transactions are processed in timely manner and that expenses are adequately budgeted and accurately coded.
  9. Prepare monthly Bank and Treasury General Account (TGA) reconciliation statements.
  10. Administer an effective control system to ensure timely returns and reports.
  11. Prepare commitment requisitions as transactions occur and instant updating of the vote book among others.
  12. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.

Person Specifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Accounting) or Bachelor of Science Accounting & Finance or Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting) from a recognized University.
  2. Level 11 professional training in Accounting Qualifications of ACCA/CPA.
  3. At least 3 - years of working experience.
  4. A Master’s degree is an added advantage


Job Title:         Dairy Development Officer
Reports to:     Senior Dairy Development Officer
Duty Station:   North –Eastern region Office- Soroti
Objective of the job:

  1. To foster increased productivity through the use of cost effective , modern and appropriate farming methods, technology, business management, development strategies  and practices among dairy stakeholders.
  2. To enhance the level of understanding among the general public on the significance and benefit of milk and dairy products consumption and to develop and apply communication strategies that would deliver appropriate messages to a wide range of communities.


  1. Facilitate dairy development through sensitization of value chain actors on government policies, strategies and programs aimed at increasing milk production and productivity;
  2. Training and sensitizing dairy farmers and or dairy farmer organizations on new and improved animal husbandry technologies as well as milk handling, transportation, bulking and marketing in liaison with extension workers and  local authorities;
  3. Implement appropriate publicity programs in the electronic media, public debates, workshops, seminars and exhibiting at trade fairs and agricultural shows.
  4. Implement appropriate promotional programmes that increase production, marketing and consumption of milk and milk products.
  5. Generate statistical data and information to facilitate the analysis of the dairy impact, benefit and outcomes of the information dissemination programs on promotion of consumption of milk and other dairy products for use in sectoral planning and development of the industry.

Person Specification

  1. Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine or; Honor’s Degree in Animal Production, Technology & Management or any other relevant Honor’s degree from a recognized University.
  2. Post Graduate qualification in a relevant field is an added advantage.

Job Title:                      Accountant
Reports to                   Senior   Accountant
Position:                         One (1)
Duty station:                 Head office

Objective of the job:
To assist in the smooth financial management by ensuring proper disbursement of funds, recording financial transactions and preparing related reports.

  1. Recording of financial transactions including cash management, banking, inventory, receivables and payables.
  2. Process payments on line and otherwise for the Authority.
  3. Prepare funds available and expenditure reports on monthly basis and as when required.
  4. Maintain the vote books for the department for verification.
  5. Maintain financial security by following internal controls
  6. Maintaining daily accurate and complete recordings pertaining to financial transactions (cash and bank) using accounting software.
  7. Preparing payments made to respective stakeholders.
  8. Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
  9. Managing office petty cash.
  10. Follow up accountabilities for money disbursed to beneficiaries.
  11. Preparing monthly cash account and bank reconciliation statements.
  12. Preparing weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports on the Authority’s creditors.
  13. Performing any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Person Specification

  1. Honor’s Degree in Commerce (Accounting) or; Honors of Science Accounting & Finance or; Honor’s degree of Business Administration (Accounting) from a recognized University.
  2. Level II of professional qualification in ACCA, CPA or any other relevant professional qualification.
  3. Post Graduate Qualification in a relevant field is added advantage
  4. At least two (2) years’ experience in Accounting.
  5. Job Title:    Principal Dairy Development officer
    Reports to: Regional Manager
    Position:     One (1)
    Person specifications

    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine or; Honor’s degree in Animal Production, Technology & Management or any relevant Honor’s degree from a recognized University.
    2. Master’s degree in a related field is a must.
    3. At least 6- years of working experience of which three (3) years must be at senior level.
    4. Should have thorough knowledge and skills in project and programme implementation gained from training or practical experience.
    5. Should have good networking, mobilization, presentation and communication skills.
    6. Capable of working with communities at the grass root level and other stakeholders in the industry.

    Key functions

    1. Conduct surveys and studies to assess and establish technological options in the milk value chain and recommend appropriate interventions.
    2. Mobilize dairy stakeholders for identification of needs, formulation of specific goals and alternative interventions strategies for the development of the Dairy industry.
    3. Initiate, develop and design appropriate programmes aimed at improving animal husbandry practices and farm business development.
    4. Develop and implement strategies and programmes for increasing the consumption of milk and dairy products.
    5. Carry out socio-economic research and surveys relating to marketing and consumption of milk and dairy products.
    6. Manage the dissemination of information regarding the performance of the dairy sector with regard to production, processing, marketing and consumption.
    7. Develop strategies for transporting informal marketing of milk and milk products.
    8. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of promotion and information dissemination strategies and programmes.
    9. Develop consumer education and sensitization programmes on nutritional benefits of consumption of milk and milk products.
    10. Create, manage and maintain the organization’s information database.

    Job Title:   Senior Administrative Officer
    Reports to:   Director Finance and Administration

    Person Specifications

    1. Honor’s degree in Human Resource Management or; Honor’s degree in Social work & Social Administration or; Honor’s of Business Administration & Management (Human Resource Management) or any other relevant Honour’s degree from a recognized University.
    2. Post graduate qualification in a related field is a must.
    3. Master’s degree in related field is an added advantage.
    4. At least 3 - years of working experience in a reputable Organization
    5. Demonstrated understanding of the human resource and administration processes and procedures.
    6. Should have good interpersonal and communication skills and able to work with a multiplicity of stakeholders.
    7. Should be highly innovative and creative thinker.
    8. Must have excellent computer, writing, presentation and negotiation skills
    9. Ability to work with minimum supervision.

    Key result areas

      To conduct orientation and induction programmes for newly  recruited staff
      • Initiate payroll and pay change reports
